Second successive loss of India in Asia Cup 2022 – this time to Sri Lanka

India lost the toss and had to bat first. They had a shaky start by losing KL Rahul and Virat Kohli in quick succession. However, captain Rohit Sharma steadied he innings with Suryakumar Yadav. The two of them added 100 runs in just 12 overs. Rohit scored 72 runs in 42 balls – it included 4 sixers and 5 boundaries. Yadav went out after scoring just 34 runs in 29 balls. Then followed Hardik Pandya and Risabh Pant. Both of them went back to the pavilion after scoring 17 runs each. India finally ended its innings at 173 for the loss of 8 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. For Sri Lanka, Dilshan Madushanka took 3 wickets while Chamika Karunaratne and Dasun Shanaka took 2 wickets each. Sri Lanka defeats India by 6 wickets in Asia Cup 2022.



Sri Lanka responded to the Indian challenge well. Its openers Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Mendis dominated the game from the beginning. They crossed 50 runs in just five overs with the former scoring 52 runs in 37 balls and his partner scored 57 runs in 37 balls. Sri Lanka won the match in the last over. Indian spinner Yuzvendra Chahal took 3 wickets. With this loss, India is almost out of the tournament. It lost to Pakistan in its previous match and India's hopes would depend on the performance of Afghanistan against Pakistan on Wednesday.

TATA IPL 2022 – Match no 10 – Gujarat Titans humbled Delhi Capitals by 14 runs

TATA IPL 2022 – venue of Match no 10 was the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. Delhi Capitals won the toss and decided to bowl. Gujarat Titans managed to put up a score of 171 for the loss of 6 wickets. Shubhman Gill scored 84 with 4 sixers. Hardik Pandya added 31 runs while David Miller added another 20 runs. Lockie Ferguson was Player of the Match with a 4-wicket haul for 28 runs. In reply, Delhi could score 167 for 9 and lost by 14 runs.

TATA IPL 2022 – Match No 4 – Gujarat Titans wins against Lucknow Super Giants - Ayush Badoni first to score 50 on debut in IPL

The cricketing world expected Match No 4 of TATA IPL 2022 to be an interesting one. No doubt, the teams of Lucknow and Gujarat are new but many of the players have already played in the Indian Premier League under different franchise. They have now donned new colors. Lucknow has KL Rahul in the role of captain plus wicket keeper. He was earlier in Punjab Kings. Similarly, Hardik Pandya was in Mumbai Indians and is now the captain of Gujarat Titans. The venue of clash was Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.


Gujarat Titans won their inaugural match against fellow newbie Lucknow Super Giants. Gujarat won the toss and sent Lucknow in to bat. Lucknow lost early wickets and were 109 for 4 after 15 overs. Deepak Hooda was LBW to Rashid Khan when on 55. He had hit 2 sixers. Ayush Badoni made 54 before he fell to Varun Arun. He hit 3 sixers. He created history by becoming the first batsman in IPL to score a 50 on debut. Lucknow could score 158 for 6 in the allotted 20 overs. It must have been far below their expectations.





In reply, Gujarat made 161 for 5 in 19.4 overs. Rahulia Tewatia top scored with 40 n.o. Hardik Pandya made 33 while Matthew Wade and David Miller chopped in with 30 runs each. Gujarat Titans hit 5 sixers. Mohammad Shami took 3 wickets to become Player of the Match.
