Second successive loss of India in Asia Cup 2022 – this time to Sri Lanka

India lost the toss and had to bat first. They had a shaky start by losing KL Rahul and Virat Kohli in quick succession. However, captain Rohit Sharma steadied he innings with Suryakumar Yadav. The two of them added 100 runs in just 12 overs. Rohit scored 72 runs in 42 balls – it included 4 sixers and 5 boundaries. Yadav went out after scoring just 34 runs in 29 balls. Then followed Hardik Pandya and Risabh Pant. Both of them went back to the pavilion after scoring 17 runs each. India finally ended its innings at 173 for the loss of 8 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. For Sri Lanka, Dilshan Madushanka took 3 wickets while Chamika Karunaratne and Dasun Shanaka took 2 wickets each. Sri Lanka defeats India by 6 wickets in Asia Cup 2022.



Sri Lanka responded to the Indian challenge well. Its openers Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Mendis dominated the game from the beginning. They crossed 50 runs in just five overs with the former scoring 52 runs in 37 balls and his partner scored 57 runs in 37 balls. Sri Lanka won the match in the last over. Indian spinner Yuzvendra Chahal took 3 wickets. With this loss, India is almost out of the tournament. It lost to Pakistan in its previous match and India's hopes would depend on the performance of Afghanistan against Pakistan on Wednesday.

TATA IPL 2022 – Match no 14 – Mumbai Indians lose to Kolkata Knight Riders by one run

The venue of TATA IPL 2022 – Match no 14 between Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders was the Maharashtra Cricket Academy Stadium in Pune. KKR is No 2 on the points table after winning 2 of the 3 matches they played. Mumbai is at No 8 after losing both games played so far. They would have liked to improve upon that but could not. They lost the match by one run.





KKR won the toss and asked Mumbai Indians to bat first. They made 161 for 4 after 20 overs. Captain Rohit Sharma went cheaply. Suryakumar Yadav scored 52 with 2 sixers. Tilak Verma remained not out on 38 with 2 sixers. Kieron Pollard made a quick fire 22 off 5 balls with 3 sixers. In reply, KKR made 162 for 5 to win the match. Venkatesh Iyer remained not out with 50 runs while Pat Cummins made 56 not out with 6 sixers. He also captured 2 wickets and became Player of the Match.

TATA IPL 2022 – MI versus DC Match No. 2 on Sunday

The game on the 2nd day’s play in TATA IPL 2022 was between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. It was the first match on a Sunday and Delhi Capitals won by 4 wickets with 10 balls to spare. Man of the Match was Kuldeep Yadav who took 3 wickets for 18 runs.


Delhi Capitals won the toss and skipper Rishabh Pant sent in the Mumbai Indians to bat first. Ishan Kishan was top scorer for MI with 61 runs. Rohit Sharma, the captain, scored 41 while Tilak Verma scored 22 and Tim David 12. However, Amlopreet Singh and Keiron Pollad went cheaply. Score was 177 for 5 in 20 overs.





In reply, Delhi Capitals scored 179 for 6 in 18.2 overs. Lalit Yadav remained not out on 48 while Prithvi Shaw and Axar Patel scored 38 runs each. The Delhi team hit 7 sixers and it was a convincing win for them. The Mumbai Indians could hit only 6 sixers.
