The venue for the TATA IPL 2022 Match No 7 was Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. Lucknow Super Giants won the toss, decided to bowl first and won the match in 19.3 overs. It was the second successive loss for Chennai Super Kings who won the title in 2021. CSK did seize the opportunity to pile up the runs and was 210 for 7 in the allotted 20 overs with run rate of 10 plus. However, it was not enough. Robin Uthappa scored 50, Shivam Dube scored 49, Moeen Ali scored 35 and Ambati Rayudu scored 27.
In reply, Lucknow Super Giants scored 211 for the loss of 4 wickets in 19.3 overs. Quinton de Kock top scored with 61 runs, Evin Lewis added 55 not out and KL Rahul, the captain, scored 40 runs. Lewis was the Player of the Match. Lucknow Super Giants is one of the new teams in this IPL and they worked to a plan and got the result they wanted.
