Katrina Kaif is happy that some Bollywood actresses are shifting to Hollywood

#KatrinaKaif #fitoor With many actresses of Bollywood moving out to Hollywood, the 32-year-old Katrina Kaif has indicated tat she would prefer to remain in Bollywood and grab good roles. The ‘Bang Bang’ star feels that the exodus would give her an opportunity to get meatier roles and enjoy, when others are busy trying their luck in the west.
This has been reported in ibnlive.com dated 6 February 2016.
As she puts it, with many of the actresses going to Hollywood, she would face less competition. She can now sit and get better roles by default, become more available and capitalize on the good characters. Her upcoming film is ‘Fitoor’ and she wants to stay back and take up 'risky' projects like the Kashmir-based love saga.
In her opinion, 'Fitoor' is more of a risky film because it does not have the usual song and dance routine and, one would need to have guts to make such films. Her last outing was "Phantom" and it did not perform as well as the makers had expected it to. The film ‘Fitoor’ is an adaptation of Charles Dickens' celebrated novel ‘Great Expectations’ and Katrina plays the role Firdaus (Estella). She admits that working with Tabu was a "bonus" for her. Tabu, is playing the role of Katrina's mother in the film. It was, initially, supposed to be played by Rekha.
'Fitoor' is directed by Abhishek Kapoor and produced by UTV Motion Pictures and will hit the screens on February 12.

25 Bollywood celebs lose police cover - including Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan

The Mumbai Police have trimmed the security cover of 25 Bollywood celebrities - among them are two of the Khans Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan. In a major overhaul, the Mumbai Police have either downgraded or nixed the security cover for the celebrities. The reason cited by the authorities is that the move was because of the need to nix ‘unwanted’ security cover.
This has been reported in indianexpress.com dated 8 January 2016.
The police have clarified that round-the-clock security to Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan had been provided - this cover included two armed constables and an armed guard on two shifts and an armed escort vehicle. However, following a re-assessment, the escorts and the armed in-charge have been withdrawn. Henceforth, only two armed constables will cover them in two shifts.
It seems security cover was being provided to around 40 Bollywood celebrities and, the list has now been trimmed and reduced to around 15 personalities against whom there are genuine threat perception.
Of the 25 personalities whose security has now been fully withdrawn are Bollywood director and producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra, director Rajkumar Hirani, director Farah Khan and producer siblings Ali and Karim Morani.
The security cover will continue to remain for Akshay Kumar and producers Mahesh and Mukesh Bhatt.
However, for Lata Mangeshkar, Dilip Kumar and Amitabh Bachchan, viewed as iconic figures, they will continue to enjoy round-the-clock security cover, apart from a police escort.

Subhas Ghai keen to set up world class film institute in Hyderabad

Subhas Ghai is a well-known filmmaker of Bollywood and he is keen to set up a world class training institute of film, television, animation and media arts in Hyderabad. In 2009, the government of then undivided Andhra Pradesh had allotted 20.10 acres of land to Whistling Woods International Limited WWIL.
The location was near the historic Golconda Fort and the land was allotted for 66 years on nominal lease of one percent of the land value – but, in 2010, the Andhra Pradesh High Court quashed the allotment.
This has been reported in indianexpress.com dated 6 October 2015.
Subhas Ghai has now approached the Telangana Information Technology Minister K. Tarakarama Rao to discuss his proposal. The minister has, apparently, invited Ghai to set up WWIL in the Film City proposed to be developed at Rachakonda near Hyderabad.
It seems the filmmaker has responded positively to this proposal. He has indicated that Hyderabad has the required infrastructure for the film industry and his Mukta Arts could offer its services.
Tarakarama Rao, son of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, has also invited Ghai to partner with the state government in the proposed Gaming City, which could offer graphics and content development for the film industry.

Gulshan Grover reveals the secret to succeed in the film industry

Gulshan Grover has been typecast as a villain of Bollywood movies and had earned the name "Bad Man" – he played the role of villain in a number of movies of the 1980s and 1990s. However, he never worried about being slotted or typecast because he was courageous, unlike other "weak actors". He had realized early in his career that in order to succeed, one must have a recall value and must be able to stand out in a crowd.
This has been reported in ibnlive.com dated 1 August 2015.
In his opinion, actors are usually afraid to be typecast. But, if you are a good actor, strong and hardworking and have it in you, then success cannot elude you.
That is the gist of what he told the media at the music launch program of his upcoming film 'Chehre' – other stars in the film directed by Rohit Kaushik are Jackie Shroff, Manisha Koirala, Divya Dutta, Aarya Babbar among others.
Incidentally, in spite of being tagged as ‘Bad Man’, he has successfully played in different and positive roles in movies like 'I Am Kalam'.
