Alia Bhatt eyes Hollywood like Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone


Alia Bhatt (22) is the daughter of filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and has set her eyes on Hollywood like other Indian actresses Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone - hence, Alia has also expressed her desire to go to the West. Alia has admitted that nothing interesting has come her way so far. But she has thought of going to the West. She wants to focus on her work in Bollywood, make a mark for herself and then venture abroad.

Alia had made her Bollywood debut with Karan Johar’s “Student of the Year” and then went on to give acclaimed performances in films like “Highway”, “2 States” and “Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania”. She is now confident about her craft of acting and, even though she has gained popularity through her work, her family has kept her grounded. Alia will now be seen in Karan Johar’s production “Kapoor & Sons”. And, she is also working with superstar Shah Rukh Khan in Gauri Shinde’s next and will also be seen in Shahid Kapoor-Kareena Kapoor Khan starrer “Udta Punjab”.

Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone starrer 'Piku' could sweep away awards at the TOIFA 2016


The Amitabh Bachchan-Deepika Padukone starrer comedy drama 'Piku' could sweep away most of the awards at the 2nd edition of the Times of India Film Awards (TOIFA) - 'Piku' is leading the nomination in the popular category at TOIFA 2016 with seven nods including best film and best actor.

The 2nd edition of Times of India Film Awards is scheduled to take place in Dubai on March 18. The awards ceremony will witness performances by Bollywood celebrities like Varun Dhawan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Yo Yo Honey Singh and many others.
'Piku' has secured other nods in categories like best director for Shoojit Sircar, Deepika for best actress, best supporting actor for Irrfan Khan and two nods (best film and best male actor) in critics’ choice. The film is a road drama that revolves around a hypochondriac old father and his cranky daughter.
Apart from 'Piku', this year’s frontrunner 'Bajirao Mastani', a historical epic starring Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh, and romantic-comedy 'Tanu Weds Manu Returns' come second with six nods apiece. 'Bajirao Mastani' helmer Sanjay Leela Bhansali has been nominated in the best director category and the movie has also registered nominations in the best film, best actor, best actress categories.

Hollywood meets Bollywood when Vin Diesel teams up with Deepika Padukone


Hollywood action star Vin Diesel is excited about the prospect of sharing screen space with Bollywood star Deepika Padukone. They will team up for the upcoming “XXX: The Return of Xander Cage” and Vin Diesel admits that he had always wanted to work with the Bollywood beauty.

Deepika would have got a break much earlier because she aas almost cast in Diesel’s “Furious 7” but things did not materialize. However, the 48-year-old actor Vin Diesel has revealed in a video that he is excited to finally get an opportunity to collaborate with the “Bajirao Mastani” star.
He has admitted that he was dying to work with someone from Bollywood. He feels workinh with her would be just such a delight because the world is going crazy over her character.
Deepika (30), on her part, has also endorsed that she is both excited and nervous about her big Hollywood debut. She has been training hard for “XXX: The Return of Xander Cage”, which would be directed by D J Caruso. Apart from Deepika and Diesel, the film’s cast would also have Samuel L Jackson and Jet Li.

Deepika Padukone to star with Vin Diesel in Hollywood movie


Another Bollywood actress is on her way to act in a Hollywood movie - it is now revealed that Vin Diesel will team up with his leading lady Deepika Padukone in “Xander Cage Returns” which would be the upcoming sequel of XXX franchise. diesel has shared a picture with the Indian beauty on his Instagram.

The 29-year-old Deepika had initially fueled speculation about her possible Hollywood debut by sharing a picture with Diesel. In the picture, she is seen hugging the Hollywood hunk while looking at the camera mysteriously. The 48-year-old Diesel has kept his fans guessing but Deepika’s “Piku” co-star Irrfan Khan has confirmed the news. He has even congratulated her.
There had been reports that Deepika had turned down Diesel’s “Fast and Furious 7” to accommodate dates for her 2014 release “Happy New Year”. But that seems to have been resolved.
“XXX” was a 2002 American action film that was directed by Rob Cohen and it starred Diesel as Xander Cage, a thrill seeking extreme sports enthusiast, stuntman and rebellious athlete-turned- reluctant spy for the national security agency.

Deepika Padukone is going places with 'Tamasha'


It was a promotion of a different kind that Deepika Padukone chose for her film 'Tamasha' - she went with Ranbir Kapoor and Imtiaz Ali on a promotional train trip from Mumbai to Delhi and Deepika had a lot of fun as she found such journeys to be very “romantic”.

The 29-year-old took the Suvidha Express from Mumbai Central and, as she has said, the love for travel, food and trains, is a common factor that binds her, Ranbir, and the “Highway” filmmaker together. She was happy to have the media with her so that they could share this experience with three of them - the basic idea was to have fun.
Ranbir, who gives the credit for the idea to Deepika said he enjoyed this new and unique way of promoting the film.
As Ranbir Kapoor explained - Intiaz loves to break traditions and for their movie 'Rockstar' they had done the promotion by traveling in a bus. For 'Tamasha' they chose a train. Its all about marketing.

Katrina Kaif, Ranbir Kapoor and ‘Jagga Jasoos’


There were rumors doing the rounds that Katrina Kaif is worried about the sizzling chemistry between Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone that is on show in their forthcoming film “Tamasha”. But, that is not true. Her spokesperson has revealed that Katrina has not requested film maker Anurag Basu to fire up her chemistry with rumored boyfriend Ranbir in their upcoming comedy-drama film “Jagga Jasoos” slated to release in June next year.

Katrina;s spokesperson has clarified that the rumors about Ranbir and Deepika’s sizzling chemistry are someone’s imagination gone wild and, while it is good fodder for gossip, it is far from true. Such stories are fabricated to mislead the audience and fans. These are idle gossip which is childish and avoidable.
Deepika and Ranbir are returning on the silver screen together after a gap of two years with filmmaker Imtiaz Ali’s romantic drama film “Tamasha”, which is slated to release on November 27.

Big-B and Deepika Padukone’s ‘Piku’ gets best movie award at Indian Film Festival, Melbourne


It was raining laurels for the movie ‘Piku’ acted by Amitabh Bachhan, Deepika Padukone and Irfan Khan when the film walked away with many of the coveted awards.
The IFFM awards for 2015 for best film went to “Piku”, best director award went to Shoojit Sircar for the same film and the best actor award went to Irrfan Khan for his performance in “Piku”.
Bhumi Pednekar of “Dum Laga Ke Haisha” picked her first award for the best actress.

The gala event took place at the iconic National Gallery of Victoria and was attended by several luminaries and high profile dignitaries that included Australian High Commissioner to India Patrick Suckling, Indian High Commissioner Navdeep Suri, Australian billionaire Anthony Pratt, Consul General Manika Jain, Anil kapoor, Bhumi Padnekar, Simi Grewal, Sonam Kapoor, film director Shoojit Sircar, Rajeev Masand, Victorian special minister Gavin Jennings.
Incidentally, this year’s award ceremony coincided with the 69th Indian Independence Day celebrations. Anil Kapoor and Suri hoisted the tricolor in the presence of a massive crowd of Indian community.
