Quantum jump for Priyanka Chopra from Quantico to Baywatch

It is a nothing short of a quantum jump for Priyanka Chopra from Quantico to Baywatch. The Bollywood actress, pop sensation and a familiar face in the West now, Priyanka Chopra, the Quantico girl, has begun shooting for Baywatch with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.

She has announced the commencement of the shooting of Baywatch and has posted a video of she and Dwayne calling each other biggest stars in the world from their shoot location which happens to be a sea side. Of course, Priyanka's new commitment has Prakash Jha worried because Priyanka may not have time for shooting of ‘Jai Gangaajal’.

Priyanka Chopra wants new talents for Purple Pebble Pictures, her production house

Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra has launched her production house Purple Pebble Pictures and has indicated that she is working to back new talent in regional as well as Hindi films. She wants to work with and push new talent like writers. The reason is that when she entered the film industry, she did not know anyone and getting a foothold is a tough affair.
She made the comments at a press meet for her film 'Bajirao Mastani'.

She has also indicated that she was keen to promote regional cinema. She is currently working on three regional films and two Hindi films and will make an announcement soon. However, she has ruled out the possibility of turning director because it was a job with 'immense responsibility'.
Her successes in 2015 are - 'Dil Dhadakne Do', 'Bajirao Mastani' and the international TV series 'Quantico' where she plays the role of a FBI officer. Incidentally, 'Quantico' has become so successful that it has got extended from 13 to 22 episodes and is likely to get a second season due to its success.
She admits that it is difficult to maintain a career in both America and in India. She already has choices of six really interesting films in India and two really interesting films in Hollywood. She will now have to decide which ones she would accept. Of course, she will next be seen as a police officer in 'Jai Gangaajal'.

Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra has revealed that her preparation for the cop drama, 'Jai Gangaajal' has helped her immensely to portray her character of an FBI agent in her international series, 'Quantico'. She had to juggle her time between these two big projects and, in view of the kind of skill and work that was required for 'Jai Gangaajal', she was ready for my role in 'Quantico'. She has admitted that 'Quantico' became easier because she was already the film.

Incidentally, while she portrays the role a police officer in 'Jai Gangaajal' wielding guns and smashing people with 'lathis', she plays a Federal Bureau of Investigation officer in the international series.
Prakash Jha who directs 'Jai Gangaajal' and also plays a police officer in the movie says that Priyanka was trained Aabha Mathur in Bhopal and she is now showcasing her talent in 'Quantico'.
Priyanka had stayed in places such as Lucknow and Bareily in Uttar Pradesh, during her growing up years and, since she grew up in UP, it was easy for her to do the role. In fact, 'Jai Gangaajal' was "the quickest film in her career" because she had to juggle between two big budget projects namely - a period drama 'Bajirao Mastani' and 'Quantico' at the same time.
'Jai Gangaajal' is set to release on March 4 next year - its music is composed by Salim-Sulaiman.

‘Quantico’ star Priyanka Chopra is making waves in the West – she is an Indian actress-singer and has emerged victorious in the 2015 MTV Europe Music Awards' Best India Act category. Scores of music fans voted for her and, as a result, she received enough votes to beat her competitors who included the likes of Indus Creed, Monica Dogra, Your Chin and The Ska Vengers.

Priyanka Chopra is an accomplished actor and with the first episode of ‘Quantico’, an American TV serial, she has announced her arrival in the international arena. Bollywood’s ‘desi girl’ Priyanka Chopra, has earned kudos from Indian film fraternity veterans like Shabana Azmi, Prakash Jha and Shekhar Kapur.
They have hailed her as an ‘international star’ as reported in indianexpress.com dated 4 October 2015. She had earlier got international acclaim in the foreign market with her music singles ‘In my city’ and ‘Exotic’.

She is a former beauty queen and has now made her debut in the fiction space with TV series ‘Quantico’ as Alex Parrish, a rookie FBI recruit with a mysterious past. The show also features actors Jake McLaughlin, Tate Ellington and Graham Rogers. All of them are fellow recruits, and narrate their adventures and experiences as they train at Quantico base in Virginia, and, gradually, secrets of their past start to emerge.
The first episode was about a mysterious pitch with a terrorist attack in New York and the FBI agents under scanner. Priyanka’s character is also a suspect. The story keeps switching from the past to the present, and back and leaves a mysterious vibe about all of agents.

‘Quantico’ is a new Hollywood TV show that has premiered in the US and Priyanka Chopra, the Bollywood heroine, has hit a new milestone with her performance in this show. It has drawn a lot of attention across the world, and especially in India for its Bollywood connection.
