‘Game of Thrones’ lifts Best Drama trophy at Emmy Awards in Los Angeles


At last ‘Game Of Thrones’ broke the jinx after five long as it has been named the best television drama series at the Emmy Awards in Los Angeles. The fantasy series (it airs on Sky Atlantic in the UK), won some of the top awards of the night after being nominated for a huge 24 prizes.

The ‘Game of Thrones’ also lifted the awards for writing, directing and for supporting actor, Peter Dinklage. Last week it had won eight Creative Emmys.
After collecting his statuette, Dinklage told the packed crowd in the Microsoft Theatre: "I was chewing gum, I wasn't prepared because the other actors in my category awe me with their performances."
As to co-creator David Benioff, after receiving the drama prize from Tracey Morgan, David gave a big ‘Thank you’ to HBO for believing in dragons.
