Randeep Hooda says media to blame more than movies for attracting youngsters to crime

Randeep Hooda’s new movie ‘Main Aur Charles’ is all about the story revolving around the case relating to notorious serial killer Charles Sobhraj. When asked whether such movies glorify criminals, Randeep Hooda remarked that rather than movies, it is the media to blame for attracting youngsters to crime. It is the ‘sensationalism’ of crimes by the media that is to blame.
This has been reported in indianexpress.com dated 20 September 2015.
‘Main Aur Charles’ is based on true events and narrated from the perspective of former Indian Police Service officer Amod Kanth, who had handled the case of notorious serial killer Charles Sobhraj. He had escaped from the capital’s Tihar Jail after drugging guards and fellow inmates. The jail is equipped with maximum security.
‘Main Aur Charles’ also features Richa Chadha, Adil Hussain and Tisca Chopra and is set to release on October 30.
