Aamir Khan’s latest movie Lall Singh Chaddha flops – could be removed from cinemas

Normally Aamir Khan’s movies are super-duper hits. However, his latest movie Lall Singh Chaddha is not doing well. Its performance at the box office has been miserable. Its business at the ticket counter fell by 85 per cent. It started off with a bang earning Rs 460 million in its first four days but lost its tempo. It dropped to Rs 18.5 million to Rs 21.5 million on its fifth day. Its total collection was Rs 480 million. This has come as a terrible setback and it is possible that LSC could be removed from cinemas. Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha expected to be removed from cinemas six days after premiere. The total collection was less than Aamir Khan’s last release c which also failed to do good business.

The media says LSC has been in the news for all the wrong reasons. LSC is an official remake of Forrest Gump, a film of Tom Hanks. The budget of Aamir’s film was Rs 1.8 billion. However, it did not appeal to the Indian audience. There were campaigns to boycott it because it shows disrespect to Hindu sentiments and the Indian army. This is a bit strange for a Bollywood man who gave movies like Sarfarosh (1999), Lagaan (2001), 3 Idiots (2009), PK (2014) Dangal (2016) etcetera,

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to attend the One Young World Summit in Manchester next month

The last time Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had been to the UK was in early June. It was to attend the Platinum Jubilee Celebration of the Queen. The celebration marked the Queen's 70-year reign. At that time, the couple introduced their daughter Lilibet to her great grandmother. They have met the Queen on a few occasions so far in 2022. These were in order to rebuild bridges. The two of them plan to visit the UK once again next month to be present at the One Young World Summit. Its venue would be Manchester. The event helps to bring together young leaders from more than 190 countries. Meghan is a counsellor for the organization. Others with her are Justin Trudeau, Sir Richard Branson, and Jamie Oliver. The purpose would be to extend support to a number of charities that are close to their hearts. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry announce surprise UK visit amid royal family feud. Harry and Meghan would also visit Germany. That would be for the Invictus Games Dusseldorf 2023 One Year to Go event. The couple would finally return to the UK for the WellChild Awards on September 8.

It seems Harry met the Queen in April when he was on his way to the Netherlands for the Invictus Games. It was a secret visit. A media report did mention that Harry could come back to the UK when his father Prince Charles ascends the throne. A former police protection officer who knows the brothers William and Harry feels Harry might not remain in California for a long time. In the opinion of the police officer, Harry could return to his homeland in a new role. The officer admits that Harry is not a fish out of sea. He is involved in different charitable works and he has tie ups with Netflix etcetera. Moreover, he is involved in his military charities like the Invictus Games. Therefore, how he finally shapes his future is anybody’s guess.

People undertake joy rides in theme parks in order to spend some time among others and enjoy their leisure. They expect a safe ride and are caught unawares when something untoward happens. This accident occurred when two trains smashed into each other at a Legoland theme park. It happened when one of the trains applied the brake sharply. The venue of the accident was the Legoland Park in Guenzburg, Germany. Two persons suffered serious injuries and were moved to hospital by air. Prince William to visit Boston for second annual Earthshot Prize

In order to protect the environment, Prince William launched the Earthshot Prize last year. It carries a handsome prize amount to encourage others to dream up concrete projects in order to save the environment. This is a 10-year project. The Prince announced that this year Boston would play host and the ceremony would be held in December at the JFK Presidential Library and Museum. Since Prince William would be in the United States, there is curiosity on whether he would take time off to meet his brother Harry and family who stay in California. However, this might not be feasible because of the enormous distance between the two states. Prince William 'very unlikely' to visit Prince Harry during US trip, experts say

Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, became interested in protecting the environment. He drew inspiration from The Prince of Wales and The Duke of Edinburgh. The elders have tried to pass across this message throughout their lives. An official of the Royal Foundation revealed how Prince William views the subject. These can be summarized firstly as – “what is the maximum positive personal contribution I can make in the next ten years in the fight against climate change?” Next comes - "what am I going to do in the next decade that means I can look my children in the eye and say that I did my bit?” He admits that the challenges our planet faces are immense. He cautions that loss of trees, burning of fossil fuels and generating unwanted waste are damaging the environment. These need to be set right in order to restore the balance of nature.

Today is Baishey Shravan, a day that no Bengali can forget

Rabindranath Tagore is a name that has become an integral part of the Bengali culture. He was born in a well-to-do family in 1861 and revealed his talents even as a child. As he grew older, he began to show his skill as not only a poet but also as a writer, playwright, composer, philosopher, social reformer and painter. In fact, his two liners said a lot in a few words. He reshaped Bengali literature and music apart from Indian art. He established an open-air college in the midst of nature and named it Shantiniketan - the abode of peace. Students came there from far corners of the country as well as from abroad. Gradually, his name spread from the confines of Bengal to far corners of the world and he won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1913. It was for his collection of poems Gitanjali published in London in 1912. He was the first Indian to earn the honor. It gave global recognition to his literary reputation.

He left for his heavenly abode on 7 August 1941. It was Baishey Shravan (22nd day of the month of Shravan). His void left a loss in the world of Bengalis but his contribution to the cultural world will remain. Many of his short stories and novels have become hit movies in not only Bengali but in other Indian languages. Even today, his songs and dances are deemed to be the platform for children to graduate to the world of seniors. His songs are in a world of their own and labelled as Rabindrasangeet. It is a unique tribute that makes his name immortal.
