Prince William to visit Boston for second annual Earthshot Prize

In order to protect the environment, Prince William launched the Earthshot Prize last year. It carries a handsome prize amount to encourage others to dream up concrete projects in order to save the environment. This is a 10-year project. The Prince announced that this year Boston would play host and the ceremony would be held in December at the JFK Presidential Library and Museum. Since Prince William would be in the United States, there is curiosity on whether he would take time off to meet his brother Harry and family who stay in California. However, this might not be feasible because of the enormous distance between the two states. Prince William 'very unlikely' to visit Prince Harry during US trip, experts say

Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, became interested in protecting the environment. He drew inspiration from The Prince of Wales and The Duke of Edinburgh. The elders have tried to pass across this message throughout their lives. An official of the Royal Foundation revealed how Prince William views the subject. These can be summarized firstly as – “what is the maximum positive personal contribution I can make in the next ten years in the fight against climate change?” Next comes - "what am I going to do in the next decade that means I can look my children in the eye and say that I did my bit?” He admits that the challenges our planet faces are immense. He cautions that loss of trees, burning of fossil fuels and generating unwanted waste are damaging the environment. These need to be set right in order to restore the balance of nature.

Prince Harry does not have any plan to visit Britain in March

Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Msrkle are members of the British Royal family. He met Meghan, an actor in a popular TV drama “Suits” and the pair married in 2018. They have two children Archie and Lilibet. In 2020, they decided to step down from royal duties and relocated in America. A spokesperson for the royal confirmed that Harry would not attend the memorial service of his grandfather Prince Philip scheduled for March 29. However, Harry does have plans to visit Queen Elizabeth II, his grandmother, at the earliest. He and Meghan have not traveled to Britain with their children since they stepped down from their royal lives in March 2020.

Prince Philip expired on April 9 and laid to rest April 17. The funeral was a low-key affair with a limited number of people because of COVID-19 restrictions. Harry had come to attend the funeral service in April 2021 but would not be present for the memorial service. They are not entitled to get police protection while in Britain. That is the effect of leaving the royal duties,. He does have his own security while in California but he feels that would not be adequate in Britain. He has taken up the matter for a judicial review of a Home Office decision. The Metropolitan Police provides a special taxpayer-funded security force for senior royals but Harry and Meghan are not eligible for that because they do not fall in the category of senior royals.

Fairytale comes alive – Disney unveils Jack and the Beanstalk

Disney has disclosed some of its forthcoming attractions. One of these is an animated film of Jack and the Beanstalk that will feature a 60ft tall, 11-year-old girl. The movie Gigantic will be directed by Nathan Greno. He, it may be recalled, was in charge on Tangled, Disney's re-telling of Rapunzel.
This has been reported in news.sky.com dated 15 August 2015.
The movie would have songs by Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, who penned the hit Let It Go from Frozen. Greno has confided the D23 Expo fan convention in Anaheim, California, that Gigantic would be the definitive version of Jack and the Beanstalk. There would be comedy and deep emotion.
Singing star Shakira will provide the voice of Gizelle in the movie and would also provide a song for Zootopia - an animated movie about a city that is populated by animals who walk upright, wear clothes and hold down jobs.
The film, expected to release next March, will feature a rabbit cop called Judy Hopps, voiced by Ginny Goodwin, and Nick Wilde, a mischievous fox voiced by Jason Bateman.
The story of Zootopia is about the city split into habitat-specific districts – like Tundra Town, populated by arctic animals, and The Burrows, the rabbit neighborhood.
