Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, spent her 41st birthday in the company of people she loves the most. Meghan Markle Is Celebrating Her 41st Birthday With ‘Family and Dear Friends.’ Among them were Prince William and Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge. Harry’s father Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla also wished Meghan. Incidentally, the birthday came a few weeks after the two of them visited New York City. There Harry made a speech in honor of Nelson Mandela Day. The event was at the U.N. General Assembly. While paying tribute, Harry referred to Meghan as his “soulmate.”

The pair made their first joint public appearance in the U.K. in April. That was the first time since they stepped down from their royal duties. It seems the two of them made a brief stop at London to meet the Queen while en-route to the 2022 Invictus Games in Netherlands. The reunion was at Windsor Castle and Harry admitted that his grandmother was in “great form.” Harry founded the Invictus Games that promote different games meant for war-disabled veterans. The couple now lives in Santa Barbara, California. In March 2020, they announced their plans to step away from their roles in the royal family. Later, in March 2021, they confirmed permanently moving to the United States. That was prior to the coronavirus pandemic.

Prince Harry does not have any plan to visit Britain in March

Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Msrkle are members of the British Royal family. He met Meghan, an actor in a popular TV drama “Suits” and the pair married in 2018. They have two children Archie and Lilibet. In 2020, they decided to step down from royal duties and relocated in America. A spokesperson for the royal confirmed that Harry would not attend the memorial service of his grandfather Prince Philip scheduled for March 29. However, Harry does have plans to visit Queen Elizabeth II, his grandmother, at the earliest. He and Meghan have not traveled to Britain with their children since they stepped down from their royal lives in March 2020.

Prince Philip expired on April 9 and laid to rest April 17. The funeral was a low-key affair with a limited number of people because of COVID-19 restrictions. Harry had come to attend the funeral service in April 2021 but would not be present for the memorial service. They are not entitled to get police protection while in Britain. That is the effect of leaving the royal duties,. He does have his own security while in California but he feels that would not be adequate in Britain. He has taken up the matter for a judicial review of a Home Office decision. The Metropolitan Police provides a special taxpayer-funded security force for senior royals but Harry and Meghan are not eligible for that because they do not fall in the category of senior royals.
