‘Quantico’ star Priyanka Chopra bags MTV EMAs Best India Act


‘Quantico’ star Priyanka Chopra is making waves in the West – she is an Indian actress-singer and has emerged victorious in the 2015 MTV Europe Music Awards' Best India Act category. Scores of music fans voted for her and, as a result, she received enough votes to beat her competitors who included the likes of Indus Creed, Monica Dogra, Your Chin and The Ska Vengers.

Priyanka will now be pitched against the winning act from Africa to be named Worldwide Act: Africa/India and prove her mettle.
The awards night will be hosted by singer Ed Sheeran and model Ruby Rose at the Mediolanum Forum in Milan on October 26 – it will be aired on VH1 India.
Pharrell Williams, Ed Sheeran and Rudimental, Ellie Goulding, Jason Derulo, Martin Garrix, Afrojack, Tori Kelly, James Bay, among other stars, are expected to perform at the event.

Priyanka Chopra and Monica Dogra nominated by VH1for Europe Music Awards 2015


Good news for music fans – VH1 has nominated actor-singer Priyanka Chopra, Monica Dogra of Shaa’ir and Func fame and three other Indian artists at the 2015 Europe Music Awards under the Best India Act category. This category is under the Worldwide Act category which is a global category where the best talent is picked from across continents.

The system is for fans to decide the best winning talent from among all the nominees through votes. The other three nominations are Indus Creed, Your Chin and The Ska Vengers.
The voting for the favorite act would be on MTV EMA’s website and for social media voting, they must tweet/post both #MTVEMA #EmasOnVh1 AND #Nominate(artist name) so that the votes are eligible for counting. The fans can cast their votes till October 14.
The next stage of voting would mean that the local winner under Best India Act will proceed head to head with winners from regions across the world to become one of the six Worldwide Act winners.
The Worldwide Act winners will be announced on the 2015 Europe Music Awards show, which will be aired on VH1 in October.
