Ranbir Kapoor blames lack of songs for failure of ‘Bombay Velvet’ to click

Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor feels that his last release ‘Bombay Velvet’ did not have songs and, hence, was one of the rejection by the audience. It was not enticing enough to pull the audience. The film was directed by Anurag Kashyap but it bombed at the box office.
Of course, Ranbir Kapoor, the ‘Rockstar’ actor is happy and proud of all the films that he has done so far.
This has been reported in indianexpress.com dated 23 September 2015.
He has added that he is proud of working with everyone and it is immaterial whether it is on ‘Bombay Velvet’ or ‘Besharam’ or any other film. The failure of ‘Bombay Velvet’ was not due to less promotion. Comparing it to ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’, he has clarified that it had songs and that helped it to work.
The 32-year-old Ranbir Kapoor is currently going through a lean phase but has given memorable performances in films like ‘Rockstar’, ‘Barfi’, ‘Rajneeti’ etcetera and was billed as the next superstar of Bollywood.
