NBA Superstar 7ft 2in Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to publish novel on Mycroft Holmes, elder brother of Sherlock Holmes

NBC legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, the 19-time NBA All-Star is 7ft 2in tall and is set to publish a novel about Mycroft Holmes who was the elder brother of renowned detective Sherlock Holmes. The novel would tell the untold story of the famous detective's brainy older sibling.

68-year-old Kareem Abdul-Jabbar has had a lifelong fascination with the Arthur Conan Doyle stories and, even though Mycroft will be Abdul-Jabbar's first novel, it would also be his 10th published book. He already has to his credit two autobiographies about his sporting days, a history of African-American intellectuals, three children's books and a profile of a World War II black tank battalion.
His forthcoming novel on Mycroft Holmes was written with screenwriter and producer Anna Waterhouse. It focuses on Mycroft's work after leaving Cambridge University for the British Secretary of State for War. He goes to Trinidad to investigate mysterious disappearances, dead children and backward-facing footprints in the sand.
Sherlock Holmes has a cameo role as a King's College student.
The book is expected to be published next week by Titan Books.
