Both of them had given memorable performances in their lifetime and, while Shashi Kapoor was known for his sometimes-funny-sometimes-serious roles, Prem Chopra was known for the roles of villains that he portrayed to perfection. Upon insistence from the audience, Prem Chopra uttered his famous monologue, ‘Prem Naam Hai Mera…’
Others who were felicitated were actor Jackie Shroff, Bindu, musicians Ajay Atul, Dr Uma Ganesh Natrajan Abeda Inamdar and Hema Malini.
Hema Malini was honored with a special award for her dedication to the festival for the last 25 years.
