Fantastic Four fails at the box office – expectations of $40 to $50 million came to just $26.2 million

‘Fantastic Four’, 20th Century Fox’s attempt to reboot the superhero team-up franchise, could make hardly $26.2 million at North American theaters over the weekend against expectations of $40 to $50 million – this is believed to be bad critical reaction.
This has been reported in indianexpress.com dated 10 August 2015.
This flop show is a rare humbling for a Marvel superhero film because it was used to grossing more than $20 million in just one night. However, the film has been savaged by critics and was dogged by reports of creative difficulties.
The earlier releases opened twice as well. The 2005 original had debuted with $56.1 million and its 2007 sequel, ‘Fantastic Four: The Silver Surfer’, had opened with $58.1 million.
