‘Titli’ – the Yash Raj film showcased at 22 festivals

‘Titli’ is a film that has been showcased in 22 different festivals including at Cannes and is the story of a Delhi based family. Directed by Kanu Behl and co-produced by Dibakar Banerjee it is a product of Yash Raj Films.
The actors are Ranvir Shorey, Amit Sial, Lalit Behl, Shashank Arora and Shivani Raghuvanshi who play the main roles.

The film has received numerous awards but, in the opinion of Banerjee, attaching a ‘festival’ tag is seen as a kind of obstacle regarding the perception of the film. One section of audience, distributors, and marketing team associate ‘festival film’ with boredom. They get scared as soon as they hear the word ‘festival’ and wonder if the film will bore you or irritate you.
The first trailer of ‘Titli’ was changed due to feedback that it did not capture the core essence of the film.

Cate Blanchett to be honored with BFI Fellowship at London Film Festival

Academy Award-winning actress 46-year-old Cate Blanchett of ‘Cinderella’ fame would be receiving the British Film Institute’s highest honor, the BFI Fellowship, at London Film Festival on October 17.

On that occasion, the movie “Truth,” starring her and Robert Redford, will have its UK premiere. Another of her films, “Carol,” premiered at Cannes, will also get a gala screening at the festival.
As Greg Dyke, chairman of the BFI has remarked - “Cate Blanchett is a compelling and brave actress whose mesmerizing screen presence has captivated audiences since her earliest roles.
The “Elizabeth” actress will now join the elite club of Al Pacino, Mel Brooks, Christopher Lee, Tim Burton,Stephen Frears and Helena Bonham Carter – they are also recipients of BFI Fellowships.
