Subhas Ghai keen to set up world class film institute in Hyderabad

Subhas Ghai is a well-known filmmaker of Bollywood and he is keen to set up a world class training institute of film, television, animation and media arts in Hyderabad. In 2009, the government of then undivided Andhra Pradesh had allotted 20.10 acres of land to Whistling Woods International Limited WWIL.
The location was near the historic Golconda Fort and the land was allotted for 66 years on nominal lease of one percent of the land value – but, in 2010, the Andhra Pradesh High Court quashed the allotment.
This has been reported in indianexpress.com dated 6 October 2015.
Subhas Ghai has now approached the Telangana Information Technology Minister K. Tarakarama Rao to discuss his proposal. The minister has, apparently, invited Ghai to set up WWIL in the Film City proposed to be developed at Rachakonda near Hyderabad.
It seems the filmmaker has responded positively to this proposal. He has indicated that Hyderabad has the required infrastructure for the film industry and his Mukta Arts could offer its services.
Tarakarama Rao, son of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, has also invited Ghai to partner with the state government in the proposed Gaming City, which could offer graphics and content development for the film industry.
