Musical band Te Vaka of New Zealand to link up with Disney’s movie ‘Moana’

Te Vaka, a group of musicians and dancers with various Pacific Island backgrounds based in New Zealand have been chosen to lend their voices to Disney's next big movie - Moana. Their unique music is a blend of traditional Island and contemporary tunes. They have traveled around the world and have a huge following around the region.
This has been reported in nzherald.co.nz dated 17 August 2015.
The group led by composer and lead singer Opetaia Foa'i, will perform on the Moana soundtrack. For this, Foa'i has been chosen to be one of its song writers alongside award-winning composers Lin-Manuel Miranda and Mark Mancina. These latter persons had worked on the soundtracks of Tarzan and The Lion King.
The announcement was made over the weekend at Disney's D23 Expo in the US - Te Vaka performed one of the film's key songs on the occasion.
The film ‘Moana’ is due out November, 2016 – the story is about a young girl named Moana Waialiki who travels the seas to fulfill her ancestors' unfinished quest. On the way, she meets demi-god Maui, who helps her on her journey. The New Zealand connection is through Kiwi filmmaker Taika Waititi, who is behind the film's script.
