2015 Global Citizen Festival in New York to be hosted by Stephen Colbert and Hugh Jackman

Comedian Stephen Colbert and “Wolverine” star Hugh Jackman are scheduled to co-host the 2015 Global Citizen Festival which would be held on September 26 at the Great Lawn of New York City’s Central Park.
Jackman’s wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, Salma Hayek Pinault, Kerry Washington and Olivia Wilde are expected to attend.
This has been reported in indianexpress.com dated 14 August 2015.
The announcement was made by Stephen Colbert and he was joined, via FaceTime, by Jackman, from his home in Australia. As per program, Pearl Jam, Beyonce, Coldplay and Ed Sheeran would perform at the festival where Colbert and Jackman, along with the rest of the hosts, will encourage people to get involved with the Global Citizen movement. The objective is to help put an end extreme poverty by 2030.
Colbert has indicated that all the world leaders would be there, plus Pearl Jam! And Jackman has added in a lighter vein that he would get to realize his lifelong dream of dancing in the mosh pit with Ban Ki-moon.
Global Citizen had announced earlier that Chris Martin would produce and curate the festival through 2030. The festival started in 2012 and Neil Young and Crazy Horse, Foo Fighters, the Black Keys, Sting, John Legend, Jay Z, No Doubt and Tiesto have all performed at the festival in the past.
