24th James Bond movie 'Spectre' earns USD 300 million in less than two weeks


Any James Bond movie is always a hit and rakes in millions. The 24th James Bond thriller “Spectre”, starring Daniel Craig and Christoph Waltz, is no exception - it has earned USD 300 million at the global box office in less than two weeks.

Albert R Broccoli’s EON Productions, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios, and Sony Pictures Entertainment have announced that the film has opened in an additional 72 territories, including the United States where it is the #1 movie. It has dominated a crowded box office by taking in USD 73 million for the weekend.
Internationally also, Spectre is a blockbuster - it has opened #1 in all 71 international territories in which it opened this weekend, taking in USD 117.8 million in total. This excludes 40 per cent of markets from France, Australia, South Korea, Japan, and China.
In the previous weekend, the film had set new all-time industry opening records in nearly every market in which it opened, as it took in USD 80.4 million through last Sunday. In the UK, the film set new records for the biggest opening of all time and the biggest seven days in box office history.
Other stars of “Spectre” are Lea Seydoux, Ben Whishaw, Naomie Harris, Monica Bellucci and Ralph Fiennes.
It is slated to release in India on November 20 in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu.

Naomie Harris dreamt of becoming an actress when she was three years old


Naomie Harris is the Bond girl in ‘Spectre’ – she is now 37-years-old and had always wanted to be an actress by the time she was three. She had been appearing on TV shows even before she had reached her teenage years. She is credited with strong work ethic and determination which are the keys to her career success.

From being a child actor she made her way to stardom. She credits it to her strong work ethic and it got even stronger because she had to work in a very adult environment and it was expected that she behave like an adult.
She admitted that she was bullied at school and there was jealousy all around her since she was on TV – but, such bullying made her mentally strong. She had the goal before her of what she wanted to become and the bullying helped fuel her dream.

24th James Bond movie ‘Spectre’ with Daniel Craig to release on 26 October 2015


The story of ‘Spectre’, the 24th James Bond adventure movie is about a cryptic message from the past that sends James Bond, 007, on a rogue mission to Mexico City and from thee to Rome, where he meets Sciarra. She is an Italian widow with secrets – her first husband was killed and she risks the same thing happening to her.

Bond starts to uncover the existence of a sinister organization, Spectre, and infiltrates a secret meeting. Then he returns to London, to enlist the help of Moneypenny and Q to seek out Swann, the daughter of his old nemesis Mr White. He could be holding the clue to untangle the web of Spectre.
While Daniel Craig plays James Bond, the female stars are played by Monica Bellucci and Lea Seydoux. Moneypenny is played by Naomie Harris and Q by Ben Whishaw. The film is directed by Sam Mendes.
Lea Seydoux is in the role of Madeleine Swann, the second Bond girl in the film. She is a doctor.
