‘Parched’, co-produced by Ajay Devgn, to premiere in 40th Toronto International Film Festival

Leena Yadav’s film “Parched” will have its world premiere at the 40th Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), to be held September 10-20. This movie marks the entry of Ajay Devgn into the international cinema as co-producer.
The setting of ‘Parched’ is rural India and the story is about the lives of three ordinary women who want to break free from the century-old traditions.

‘Parched’ goes the boundaries of language and culture and it is expected that the theme and storyline will find resonance with a global audience. The film is jointly produced by Ajay, Aseem Bajaj, Gulab Singh and Rohan Jagdale. It also features stars like Tannishtha Chatterjee, Radhika Apte, Surveen Chawla, Adil Hussain, Sumeet Vyas, Lehar Khan, Riddhi Sen, Mahesh Balraj and Chandan Anand.
It is scheduled to premiere in the Special Presentation Section of the film festival where other films to be screened are Johnny Depp’s “Black Mass”, Ethan Hawke’s “Born To Be Blue”, Jason Bateman and Nicole Kidman’s “The Family Fang”, Tom McCarthy’s “Spotlight” and Michael Moore’s “Where to Invade Next” etcetera.

Any movie of Ajay Devgn is sure to draw crowds because he is a versatile actor who can make his character come to life effortlessly on the silver screen.
His yet to be released 'Drishyam' is a remake of the Malayalam film of the same name. The Hindi remake is directed by Nishikant Kamat and Ajay Devgn and Tabu play the lead roles. The teaser and trailer have already succeeded in generating interest because Ajay plays a new type of role while Tabu plays the role of a police officer.
