35-year-old actress Neha Dhupia rose to fame with her bold role in “Julie” and went on to go to off-beat cinema with critically acclaimed movies like “Ek Chalis Ki Last Local” and “Phass Gaye Rey Obama”. She will next be seen in the comedy “Santa Banta Pvt Ltd” which stars Boman Irani, Vir Das, Johnny Lever among others. However, she longs to do a sport biopic.
This has been reported in
indianexpress.com dated 31 March 2016.
Her career spans a decade and she has already featured in films that range from romance to comedy and she now wants to star in a sports biopic. As it is, she is a well-known fitness enthusiast and is of the opinion that she could portray the true story of an athlete on screen.
She has acted in blockbuster comedies like “Singh is Kinng”, “Garam Masala” and “Kyaa Kool Hai Hum”, and finds the genre easy to handle. It all depends on how one reacts to what others are saying and it is all about the timing, the dialogue delivery.
Neha Dhupia is a former Miss India and in “Santa Banta Pvt Ltd”, she will share screen space with actors who are well versed in comedy, from Johnny Lever, to Vijay Raaz. The film is directed by Akashdeep Sabir, and is scheduled to release on April 22.
