Dharamshala International Film Festival starts with 'Titli'

4th Dharamshala International Film Festival (DIFF) started with 'Titli', it was to a packed house of debutant director Kanu Behl’s internationally acclaimed drama film. It was released on October 30 and stars Ranvir Shorey, Amit Sial, Shashank Arora, Lalit Behl and Shivani Raghuvanshi. All of them can be seen in pivotal roles. It had earlier been screened in the Un Certain Regard section of the 2014 Cannes Film Festival. Subsequently, it came into limelight in India for its hard-hitting content.
This has been reported in indianexpress.com dated 5 November 2015.
The story of 'Titli' focuses on the life of three brothers – Titli (Shashank), Vikram (Ranvir) and Pradeep (Amit) and the movie tries to capture the volatility of a society where violence lies uneasily just below the surface.
The film is co-produced by Yash Raj Films and filmmaker Dibakar Banerjee and had to go under the knife of Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) because of its violating and harsh content. However, in spite of cuts, the film looks equally powerful as it was before.
