Soumitra has written the Garba song based on the River Narmada and has also begun the recording at a city studio with co-singer Adrika Sarkar.
This has been reported in timesofindia.indiatimes.com dated 9 September 2015.
Narmada has been selected as the theme of this year’s Puja and the song tries to capture stories that have been woven around the river.
Narmada, also known as Rewa, flows through the heart of India and is the fifth longest river in the Indian subcontinent and the lifeline of Madhya Pradesh. It also forms the boundary between north and south India and flows into the Arabian Sea, 30-Km west of Bharuch city of Gujarat.
Soumitra has introduced garba tunes to make the song more authentic and had to do a lot of research to retain authenticity.
